Imagine that I asked you to go out and find a kapinion. It’s really important that you do this and it’s crucial you get it right. If you don’t do it right, it’s going to ruin your life.
You might be asking right now, “What the heck is a kapinion? How can I go get this if I don’t know what it is? How could I possibly do this really important task correctly, if I don’t know what it is?”
Exactly. How could you get it right if you don’t know what it is?
Love, happiness, and stress are some of the most important and yet most misunderstood words. I haven’t asked them all, but I’m pretty sure that every human on this planet desires love and happiness. And every human on the planet experiences stress.
But no one knows what love IS. No one knows what happiness IS. And no one knows what stress IS. This causes big problems. Because if we don’t know what these words really mean, how can we do it right?
Let’s take a brief look at each one.
Love. Love is an umbrella term. It includes all positive, renewing emotions. Care, empathy, compassion, appreciation, anticipation, forgiveness, excitement, joy, peace, contentment, ease, faith, hope are all flavours of love. Love is a choice to feel these positive, renewing emotions, not just for the people you care about, but for everyone and everything - life itself - in every situation. That’s love.
Happiness. Happiness is the positive effect that you receive when you choose to experience love and all of its flavours. Not only when things are good, but especially when things are tough. That’s what creates happiness.
Stress. Stress is defined as your emotional response to your perception of life’s events. When you perceive life’s events as difficult, undesirable, too much for you, or 'out to get you’, and then you feel a stressful, negative emotion such as fear, anger, frustration, anxiety, guilt, despair, and so on - that’s stress.
Now that you know what these three key concepts really are, you can do it right. You can choose love, create happiness, and conquer stress. Not only can you do this; you must do this. Your life depends on it.
